Organizational Infrastructure

What we do

Hospital Organisational Infrastructure

Hospital surgical organisational infrastructure is the physical and digital infrastructure needed to organize the many different facilities, resources, devices, systems, and actors involved in operating a hospital. Key in hospital organisational infrastructure is to coordinate and align to amplify safety, sterility, efficiency, financials, and patient and societal outcomes.

Contemporary hospital infrastructure

The foundational layer of hospital organisational infrastructure is the building, because this is the environment which creates the conditions in which the other layers must be organised. The next layer, which exists within the building, is the extremely important OR, as it generates approximately 70% of a hospitals revenue. Organisationally, the OR is a hotspot of complexity that needs to be carefully managed. The third layer consists of the organisation of all resources (e.g. people, equipment, data) that enable hospital operations within the first two layers.

Contemporary hospitals are hugely complex to build and run. They involve many different parties and stakeholders – none of which have an overlying view of organizational needs from “cradle to grave”. This deficient short-sighted patchwork naturally creates unwanted organizational and infrastructural silos, as well as suboptimal outcomes in terms of safety, efficiency, sterility, cost effectiveness, and patient and societal outcomes.

Legacy surgical sector designs are ‘leaking’ and obsolete.

DATUS Organisational Infrastructure

DATUS’ answer to this root-cause is an organisational infrastructure system for hospitals that can manage the challenges of the future and thrive in them.

At healthcare facility level, we offer coordination, alignment and amplification in the form of design advisory services to create the optimal environmental conditions for overlying layers.

At OR level, we developed a proprietary integrally-designed OR to coordinate, align and amplify OR operations that generate so much of a hospital’s revenue.

And on the resource level, we offer various operational organisational infrastructure systems to coordinate, align and amplify all resources, data sources and capabilities in the ORs and hospital.
